It has to offer ruins of the great Vijayanagar kingdom that ruled south India for more than a couple of centuries. Temples, buildings and other stuctures provide traces that seem to have survived to tell you a tale of ravages of time and its beauty can take you into a world lived 200 years before now.<br /><br />Interestingly, Hampi also happens to be the place portrayed as Kishkinda in the 7000 year old great Indian epic, Ramayan.
